Reality TV Meets YA

Guys, I just finished the most DELICIOUS book! One to Watch has become a book that is on many individual's most wanted list, and has gotten raving reviews. I, of course, picked up the BOTM version of this story due to the hype and I was so glad that I did. This book was... addictive!

I am not a fan of the Bachelor, but this book is basically that show in a novel. It is full of drama, fake relationships, and more drama. It is SO good. Each chapter is labeled as one of the episodes, which I thought was a fun twist! And, there are little pieces of media in the chapters such as text messages, blog posts, podcasts, and e-mails. It's easy to follow and is inserted in a way that makes sense and allows the book to continue to flow, without the interruption of social media format to distract you.

This book also deals with some heavy, and important topics such as sexual harassment, cyber-bullying, body-image, cheating, asexuality, and body positivity  and the author DELIVERS (and this is just a DEBUT).

Bea, our main character, is a plus-sized influencer who has come to love her body in all its imperfections, despite the many men who shame her and are disgusted by her, making her feel that she is not worthy of love. That is, until she is coerced into being Main Squeeze's Bachelorette and starts to not only discover love, but also discover things about herself and letting herself have the happiness that everyone else has, that her body shape doesn't make her less deserving of that happiness.

I would love to see the author write more about these characters, because I seriously loved Bea. She was relatable, funny, motivating, and empowering. She always stood up for herself, no matter what. I was happy to see who she ended up with, especially after some of the chosen men were really horrible to her and said nasty things that literally had me angry for Bea (whose fictional) myself.

An excellent, addictive story that will suck you right in and keep you up until the early hours of the morning just to finish it and find out what happens next and how this all plays out!
